Present Perfect Simple & Present Perfect Continuous - Theory

Μερικές φορές δεν έχει διαφορά όποιο χρόνο και να χρησιμοποιήσεις!

Με τα ρήματα 'stay' 'live', 'work' and 'study':

• They've lived in London since 2019.

• They've been living in Athens since 2014.

• I've studied French for ten years.

• I've been studying Englishfor ten years.

• He's worked at the company since 2019.

• He's been working at our company since 2012

1. O present perfect continuous μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί για να τονίσει το χρονικό διάστημα που έχει παρέλθει. oPresent Pefect Simple είναι γενικά ουδέτερο:

• We've been waiting for hours! (This emphasises the length of time).

• We've waited for hours. (This doesn't emphasise the length of time).

2. Από την άλλη πλευρά, ο Present Pefect Simple χρησιμοποιείται συχνά όταν μιλάμε για ποσό. Αυτό δεν είναι δυνατό με τον present perfect continuous:

• She's drunk four cups of coffee this morning.

• She's drunk at least a litre of milk today.

• (NOT: she's been drinking four cups of coffee this morning.)

O present perfect continuous συχνά εστιάζει στην ίδια τη δράση, ενώ o present perfect Simple εστιάζει στο γεγονός ότι η δράση έχει ολοκληρωθεί:

I've been reading the book you recommended. (I'm enjoying it, but I'm not finished).

• I've read the book you recommended. (I've finished it, so we can talk about it).

3. O present perfect continuous συχνά εστιάζει στην ίδια τη πράξη, ενώ Present Pefect Simple εστιάζει στο γεγονός ότι η πράξη έχει ολοκληρωθεί:

• I've been watching the TV series you recommended. (I'm enjoying it, but I'm not finished).

• I've watched the TV series you recommended. (I've finished it, so we can talk about it). We use 'yet' and 'already' with the present perfect simple:

Χρησιμοποιούμε 'yet' and 'already' με the present perfect simple:

• Have you read the book yet?

• She's finished her work already

O present perfect simple χρησιμοποιείται όταν η πράξη έχει ολοκληρωθεί και το αποτέλεσμα προέρχεται από την ολοκλήρωση της πράξης:

• I've eaten lunch, so let's go out.

• She's done all her chores, so she can relax this evening.

• I've made a chocolate cake. Would you like some?

Ο Present Perf. Cont. χρησιμοποιείται όταν το αποτέλεσμα προέρχεται από την ίδια τη δράση. Δεν έχει σημασία αν η όλη δράση έχει ολοκληρωθεί ή όχι. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι συχνά κάτι που μπορούμε να δούμε, να ακούσουμε, μυρωδιά ή αίσθηση:

• I've been eating breakfast, so there are 3 plates all over the table.

• She's been doing her chores, so she's tired.

• I've been making a chocolate cake, that's why the kitchen is such a mess

4.Τέλος ο Present Perf. Cont.μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί για να τονίσει ότι κάτι είναι προσωρινό:

• He's been running a lot recently. (She doesn't usually do this).

• Usually I study at home, but I've been studying in the library for the last week
